Sooners fend off Huskers’ rally in second half

Nebraska fell behind Oklahoma by 21 points early in the third quarter before rallying in a 31-24 setback to the Sooners.

Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson rushed for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns in the first half to set the tone for the Sooners. Nebraska’s Blackshirts shut down Peterson in the second half to keep the offense within striking distance, but a pair of interceptions that led to 10 Sooner points proved to be the difference.

The Huskers kept it interesting to the end with a touchdown that made it a 31-24 game with 5:56 left, and then making defensive stop to get the ball back at the NU 27 with 2:37 remaining. But after yielding one first down, the Sooners shut the door on Nebraska’s comeback hopes to regain possession at the NU 15 in the final minute.

The Huskers managed just 16 net rushing yards against the Sooners, who sacked Nebraska quarterback Zac Taylor nine times.

Zac making poor decisions and an O-line that was overwhelmed is not a recipe for success.

Taylor is a class act. A tough kid. .... He has taken a beating all season. But this pain was clearly different.

Zac Taylor is clearly showing signs of the painful pounding he has taken this year.

Khus the Red

We simply cannot match a team like Oklahoma when they have so severely trounced us in recruiting the past several years.

Even at 90% capacity, AD is still one of the most dangerous runners in all of college football.
