Commentary

Stryker

Plain and simple, Pelini did not field a competitive team. Both the Husker offensive and defensive lines looked atrocious in the spotlight.

The latest embarrassment is frankly inexplicable for a program with Nebraska’s wide array of resources and energy poured into the program.

Lincoln Journal Star
Vogel

In many ways, this loss to the Badgers was worse than the previous worst loss you thought you had ever seen from Nebraska.

Hail Varsity
Johnson

After the first four drives, there was not a single Nebraska defensive lineman who beat a Wisconsin offensive lineman straight off the ball. Not one.

Chatelain

This can’t keep happening. It’s not just humiliating the program nationally, it’s splintering the fan base, extinguishing hope and fostering apathy.

Omaha World-Herald
Hamar

We’ve seen it before. Huskers go on the road. Maybe play well for awhile, and then things fall apart.

Grand Island Independent
Barfknecht

Somebody needs to collect those sacred black practice jerseys and lock them up for as long as so-called defensive guru Bo Pelini is the head coach.

Omaha World-Herald
Shatel

The issue here cuts to the core of the program. When you get there, as these big games often do, you see that Pelini’s program is fragile in the center.

Omaha World-Herald

Nebraska’s young team needs a strong finish to remain among college football’s top 20 and the possibility to climb even higher than that by January.
