Gordon drove in four runs to pace the 11-hit Husker attack, while Daniel Bruce went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs, as Nebraska improved to 18-5 on the year heading into a weekend series at Kansas State.

Quinton Robertson (2-4) earned his first win since Feb. 22, tossing five innings of shutout ball, scattering three hits and striking out four. The right-hander allowed a leadoff single to Brooks Graff, but then retired the next 13 Panthers, as he went the first five innings for the win. Four Husker relievers preserved the shutout, combining for four innings of no-hit ball, as NU recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time since March 16-17, 2002.

"We went out and scored ten runs and nine runs, and gave up a total of four hits and one error between the games," Nebraska Head Coach Mike Anderson said. "That�s all we need to do. I was proud of our pitching staff all the way around. Quinton did a good job today. He got an opportunity to go out there and pitch again and show us what he can do. Hopefully he can work his way back into the weekend rotation."

The Huskers got on the board in the bottom of the first off UWM starter Ben Stanczyk on a two-out RBI single by Curtis Ledbetter. Colin Shockey led off the inning with a walk and eventually got to third before Ledbetter, making his first appearance since last Friday, lined an 0-1 pitch in to center to give NU all the offense they would need.

In the third, Daniel Bruce put the Huskers ahead 2-0 with his fifth homer of the season � a solo shot to left � before Nebraska put the game out of reach with a three-run fourth. Shockey, who had two hits and scored twice, and Bruce had consecutive run-scoring singles before Gordon�s sacrifice fly put Nebraska, which has won 11 of its last 12 contests, up 5-0.

The sophomore third baseman, who is hitting .415 with 37 RBIs then accounted for three of the Huskers� final four runs with a two-run double in the sixth and an RBI single the eighth, while Jesse Boyer also added an RBI single in the eighth.

Stanczyk took the loss, allowing eight runs � seven earned - over six innings in dropping to 1-3, as UWM dropped to 7-10 on the season.

UWM had its best opportunity to score in the seventh, loading the bases on three consecutive walks with one out, but Brett Jensen got NU out of the jam by striking out pinch hitter Blake Kangas and getting Steve Sanfilippo to fly out to center to end the inning.

The Huskers now travel to Manhattan, Kan., for a three-game series with Kansas State beginning Friday at 7 p.m. All three games will be carried on the Pinnacle Sports Network as well as video streamed on HuskersNside.
