Eagles Release DeSean Jackson
The Eagles’ wide receiver corps will look a lot different in 2021. Jackson has spent the past two years with the team, but he’s been limited to just eight total games. He’ll be looking for a new team next season, with the Eagles officially releasing Jackson on Monday. Alshon Jeffery is also widely expected to be released once the 2021 league-year officially starts.
That still leaves the Eagles with a bunch of players at the position. Jalen Reagor should take over as their No. 1 option after being selected in the first round last season, while Greg Ward played well in the slot. Travis Fulgham also had some excellent games with Carson Wentz under center in 2020 while the team dealt with an abundance of injuries at the position.
The big question for the Eagles’ pass-catchers is who they will be catching passes from in 2021. Jalen Hurts is the favorite to start at quarterback in Week 1, but the Eagles are reportedly still looking at other options. Using their first-round pick on a quarterback — or even trading up for one — remains a real possibility.
